By adolescence, he had constructed a small spectrographic array for observing stellar plasma drift and contributed essays on thermodynamics to the Vulcan Science Institute. Though offered admission to the VSA, he instead chose to join Starfleet Academy (2388), drawn by the Federation’s diversity of thought and cooperative scientific mission. At the Academy, he majored in Astrophysics and Exobiology, earning commendation for his thesis on Variable Quantum Particle Flux in Pulsar-Driven Subspace Anomalies. His work was noted by the Memory Alpha Research Directorate for exceptional precision in subspace modelling. Following graduation in 2392, he served aboard the USS Carthage (Nebula-class) as Junior Science Officer, where he focused on stellar cartography and radiation mapping. Later, at Starbase 11 Research Annex, he specialized in atmospheric modelling and terraforming metrics.
